Tearing
Tearing can be caused by many things including ectropion, entropion, allergies or dry eye issues.
If tearing is related to a poorly functioning tear duct, this can be repaired by several different techniques that either attempt to restore the natural tear duct or create a new one. If the tear duct is blocked, this can lead to infection of the tear duct system known as dacryocystitis. The acute infection can be treated with antibiotics, but a surgery to bypass the blockage is necessary to prevent re-occuring infections. |
