Eyelid Cancer Reconstruction
Eyelid cancer is increasing in incidence in the United States and is related to sun exposure. These lesions can disrupt the normal lid archiecture, grow in size and even bleed at times.
Skin cancer can be removed by different surgical techniques. The eyelids, surrounding facial tissue and, at times, the tear ducts may need to be reconstructed requiring individualized care by an oculoplastic surgeon. The removal of skin cancer along with restoration of eyelid appearance, integrity and function is the ultimate goal. |
