What Are Injectable Fillers?
Injectable fillers improve the appearance of folds and wrinkles in smile lines, lip lines, nasolabial folds (parenthesis lines), marionette folds and the under eyes. They also can help add volume to the cheek to give a nonsurgical mid face lift.
Different fillers have different characteristics including thickness, longevity and versatility.
Thicker heavier fillers are good for adding volume to sunken flattened cheeks. These last 12-24 months.
Moderate thickness fillers are good for adding volume in deep folds of the cheeks and mouth. They are also effect in lip augmentation. They last approximately 10-12 months.
Thinner fillers are great for superficial lines of the face and fine lip lines. They tend to last about 8-9 months
Do Injections Hurt?
Numbing cream is used as as a topical anesthetic to the areas of treatment before it begins. Typically, this is all that is needed. For lip injections, a dental nerve block can be performed to allow for painless lip injections.
